Custom solutions
Headwind GSM Modem Driver is a powerful platform for SMS messaging providing the API (COM/.NET, command-line) for
sending and receiving short messages. This platform may be used to develop an inexpensive and reliable SMS server based
on GSM modem.
Components necessary to deploy an SMS server
- Server (PC)
- Windows XP or 2003 Server
- GSM/GPRS modem (the recommended models are Siemens MC35i, Siemens MC60,
Siemens MC75, Novacom GNS-60CR, Novacom GNS-60iU). You can also use a mobile phone connected through the USB cable.
Our company develops SMS solutions of different complexity:
SMS handlers and sources
SMS handler is a script called by Headwind GSM Modem Driver when a short message is received.
Our company offers the development of such scripts using VBScript language. The SMS handlers may solve different
problems, for instance:
- Run a command on PC according to the message content and sender number;
- Autoresponder (choose the reply according to the message content and sender number);
- Write incoming SMS in a database (for example, MySQL);
- Forward incoming SMS to e-mail;
- Post incoming SMS to web site.
SMS source is used by Headwind GSM Modem Driver to send short messages. Headwind GSM Modem Driver requests
an SMS source for outgoing messages and sends them if necessary. There are multiple types of SMS sources:
- Command. Headwind GSM Modem Driver calls a command or a script returning outgoing SMS in a
special (XML) form.
- File. A file is checked time-to-time. If the file is not empty, Headwind GSM Modem Driver retrieves
SMS from it and sends them. This type is convenient for using with another applications.
- URL. Headwind GSM Modem Driver downloads a special web page.
Development costs: from 0$.*
* If a license to the software is purchased and we have a ready solution, small scripts may be provided without
additional fee. Please contact us for details.
Web interface
The web interface allows to provide the access to the SMS system to all computers in the local network or even
to the remote Internet users. The SMS capability may be easily added to your web site.
A free open-source Apache web server with MySQL database will be installed on your SMS server.
Solution examples:
SMS-chat
The SMS chat has been developed for radio station DJs, who must see SMS messages sent to them, read these messages
on the air and answer to them instantly. The solution includes a refreshing list of incoming short messages,
message statistics, and the history of received and sent messages.
Bulk SMS system
The system is development for mass SMS sending to abonent groups, single abonents from the address books, and
arbitrary phone numbers. The system includes the address book, group editor, and allows to check whether the messages
were sent successfully.
Multi-user bulk SMS system
The multi-user bulk SMS system provides user and administrator accounts. The system administrator can add or
remove users, and setup the limit of SMS for each user. The short messages are sent to the abonent groups (each user
has his own abonent list).
Development costs: from 200$.
You can ask us for a demo account. The demo SMS systems are installed on our server; they use GSM modem to
send and receive SMS messages.
SMS applications
Headwind GSM Modem Driver may be used as a base for SMS applications developed using Microsoft.NET.
In this case, all the power of Windows API is available to solve the customer's problems.
Solution examples:
Bulk SMS sending utility
This utility can be used to send short messages to a list of abonents (the list can be imported from a text file
or entered by the user). The utility allows to view the sending progress. This utility is included in the distributive
of Headwind GSM Modem Driver.
Dial office SMS management
The application receives the SMS requests from the abonents and sends commands to a dial office, which makes callbacks
to the abonents according to the SMS content.
Development costs: from 300$.
