Running multiple instances of the software

To connect multiple GSM modems to your computer, you can run multiple instances of Headwind GSM Modem Driver. This feature becomes available since version 3.2.1217. If your version has smaller number, please download the latest version from our website.

To run second, third, etc. instances of Headwind GSM Modem Driver, you need to run the software with the command-line parameter "/instN" (N - 1, 2,...):

Select Start -> Run... or type Windows+R, and type

"C:\Program Files\Headwind SMS\Headwind GSM Modem Driver\hgsmdrv.exe" /inst1

Each instance of the software is configured independently. It has its own message databases, SMS handlers and SMS sources.

External applications

The COM interface uses only the first (main) instance of Headwind GSM Modem Driver. To send SMS through multiple GSM modems, you need to use SMS sources. To receive SMS from multiple GSM modems, use SMS handlers. Each instance of Headwind GSM Modem Driver uses its own set of SMS sources and SMS handlers, so the message won't be sent twice.

Automatic run at startup

To run multiple instances at startup automatically, please add the corresponding shortcuts to the "Autostart" section of Windows program menu.
