Troubleshooting
I have setup the virtual serial port, but the Headwind GSM modem driver
shows the bubble tip "File not found"
The port name seems to be not configured. Disconnect the modem, configure the port name
and try again. See instructions on the configuration of a
virtual serial port.
I have setup the virtual serial port, but the Headwind GSM modem driver hangs up
on connect, or shows the bubble tip "Access denied"
Check that you do not need to confirm the connection from the modem's side and confirm
the connection if necessary. There may be also an error in a virtual serial communication (for example,
the Bluetooth key was expired). In this case, break the virtual serial communication and reconnect it.
When I try to send SMS, Headwind GSM modem driver immediately reports an error
Probably the automatic configuration of the model was failed. Open the
control panel, select the "Properties"
tab and uncheck the "Auto-detect" checkbox. Then switch the the "SMS"
tab and setup the sending mode manually.
Check that the recipient number is in proper format. The most common format is the so-called
"international" format (the number begins with the prefix "+" followed by the country code).
Set the format manually to "unknown" if you are not sure.
Headwind GSM modem driver does not notify me about incoming SMS
Check that bubble tips are allowed and handled SMS are saved ("Application"
tab in the control panel). Some devices do not support notification. In this case, set the read mode
manually to "Polling" (see above how to setup the modem manually). Some devices may not
give access to incoming WAP Push messages.
