Application settings
This tab controls the startup settings for Headwind GSM Modem Driver and some other settings.
The following options are available:
Startup settings
- Launch application at startup - set this flag to launch Headwind GSM modem driver when the
operating system starts;
- Show bubble tip after start - enable or disable a welcome message after start;
- Show welcome screen after start - enable or disable a welcome screen after start;
- Auto-connect after start - when checked, an automatic connection with the modem is established
after start;
- Disable bubble tips - uncheck to disable notifications on incoming SMS and errors;
- Emulation mode - in this mode, the software does not send SMS, so you can use it to
test your applications (the option requires restart of the software).
Diagnostics settings
- Log level - "None" disables the modem log, "Errors" allows to output only error messages,
"All" means the debug mode (in the debug mode, all AT commands and modem replies are written in the log);
- Clear log - clears the current log file;
- Rotate log file - check this box to limit the size of a log file;
- File size - log file size in kbytes;
- Status file - the file containing the current status of the software (number of errors, connection
status, date of last update, etc). The status file is useful in server solutions;
- Status file refresh time - time in seconds to refresh the status file;
- Limit boxes size - check to limit the number of SMS saved in boxes. This option
is useful if you send a huge number of messages;
- Number of SMS - if the number of SMS is limited, this is the size of this limit.
Other settings
- Save handled SMS in inbox - controls whether handled incoming SMS are saved in inbox;
- Notify on failed SMS - when SMS is not sent, you get the balloon tip with an
error message;
- Short number type - defines the default type of number (ToN) for short numbers (see
"Send SMS" for details);
- Long number type - defines the default type of number (ToN) for long numbers (see
"Send SMS" for details).
